Prof. Dr. May-Britt Kallenrode
Prof. Dr. May-Britt Kallenrode is Vice-President for Research and Graduate Student Development of the University of Osnabrück. She studied physics and meteorology at the Christian-Albrechts Universität Kiel. After graduation, she was a research assistant in the area of extraterrestrial physics and obtained her PhD degree on the topic of “Injection of energetic particles into solar flares”. Since 2000 Prof. Dr. May-Britt Kallenrode teaches and conducts research as professor for “Numerical physics: Modelling” at the University of Osnabrück. From the start she committed herself to matters of academic self government and was for several years member of the senate and the faculty council. She actively participated in several panels dealing with the university’s constitution, study reforms and equality.
Prof. Dr. Marc-Thorsten Hütt
Marc-Thorsten Hütt is a Professor of Computational Systems Biology at Jacobs University. With his group he studies correlations in biological systems on very different scales, ranging from genomes to interacting cells. A principal goal of his work is to understand, how network topology is linked to function in large-scale metabolic and gene regulation networks. He uses methods from nonlinear dynamics and information theory to explore diverse aspects of biological self-organization.
Jürn Schmidt
Mr. Jürn Schmidt is the former managing director of Bremen-based project logistics company Hansa Meyer Global. After his qualification as a freight forwarding specialist and his studies in industrial engineering, Mr. Schmidt took several executive and board functions amongst others at Kühne & Nagel, Hamburg, Haarmann, Hemmelrath & Partner, Hamburg, Hangartner AG, Aarau / Schweiz and W.I.S. Sicherheit + Service GmbH & Co. KG, Köln, and in 2011 also at Hansa Meyer Global Transport GmbH as the CEO. Next to his executive function, he has also been the chairman of the Hansa Meyer Global group’s advisory board.
Alexandra-Katharina Kütemeyer
Ms. Alexandra-Katharina Kütemeyer is the executive editor of Weser-Kurier. Since 2012, Kütemeyer has worked as a social manager for the “Stern” magazine in Hamburg while also making a name for herself as a lecturer. Previously, she studied journalism in Bremen and worked for the women’s magazine “Petra” as well as the newspaper “Frankfurter Rundschau”.
